How to Burn Out a Social Worker…

Published by oregonamy1972 at 7:08 pm under MSW, Medical Social Work, social work Edit This

I’m thinking the easiest way right now is to make her work in a seriously understaffed situation for about three weeks.  And then see to it that every case that she has to work on deals with highly emotional issues or complex social situations (such as homelessness, drug addiction, and/or mental health issues).  Don’t forget to add in a dysfunctional family or two.  I’ve been in a situation such as this for about three weeks now.  I had hoped that things would be back to normal today, but it was not to be.  The cases were all still just as complex and my colleagues were not all back at work. I fortunately had a co-worker today but one of my co-worker had travel difficulties. She may be in tomorrow. I really, truly hope so. I am really exhausted and really read to share the load with a few people.
